Medical, biotin lab-test, vitamin A, FDA, accuracy and liability disclaimers for the Gelagen information published on gelasggen.com.
Content on gelasggen.com is published for general information. It is not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and it creates no professional relationship. Always consult a qualified doctor, dermatologist or pharmacist before starting any dietary supplement, particularly if you take prescription medication, have a diagnosed condition, are pregnant or nursing, or are under 18.
Gelagen supplies 5,000 mcg of biotin per serving. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has issued a safety communication warning that high-dose biotin can significantly interfere with certain laboratory tests, including troponin assays used to help diagnose heart attacks, as well as thyroid and hormone panels. Interference can push results falsely high or falsely low depending on the assay. Tell your doctor and the laboratory that you take a high-dose biotin supplement, every time, and follow any instruction to stop it before testing.
Sudden or patchy hair loss, new or changing nail abnormalities, persistent rashes and new or changing pigmented lesions should be assessed by a doctor. Several causes of hair and nail problems — thyroid disease, iron deficiency, coeliac disease, medication side effects — are treatable and are identified with blood tests. A dietary supplement is not a substitute for finding out which applies.
This product contains preformed vitamin A as retinyl acetate. Preformed vitamin A accumulates, the adult tolerable upper intake level is 3,000 mcg RAE daily from all sources, and high intake in pregnancy carries a teratogenic risk. It also contains iodine, which has a narrow safe window and matters to anyone with a thyroid condition. Speak to your doctor before use if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, nursing, taking an oral retinoid, or being treated for a thyroid condition.
Statements on this site have not been evaluated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Gelagen is a dietary supplement, not a drug, and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Manufacturing in an FDA-registered facility means the facility is registered with the agency; it does not mean the product is approved. No dietary supplement is FDA-approved.
Nutrient amounts here are read from the Supplement Facts panel available to us at the time of writing. Formulations, labels, prices and guarantee terms are controlled by the seller and may change without notice. Always read the panel on the bottle you receive and confirm pricing and guarantee terms at checkout before paying. Where marketing artwork and the panel disagree, the panel is the document that describes what you will swallow.
The Supported / Partly / Not supported rulings published on this site are our editorial assessment of whether a marketed claim is backed by the nutrients and amounts on the printed panel. They are reasoned opinions based on published research, not regulatory determinations.
Testimonials reflect individual experience and are not a guarantee you will achieve a similar outcome. Skin, hair and nail changes are slow, seasonal and influenced by many factors at once, which is why this site recommends photographs in consistent lighting and measured nail growth rather than impressions.
