Gelagen Is Not a Men's Supplement — Checking the Label

Published 15 July 2026 Updated 8 September 2026 3 min read

The verdict in one line

One formula, no gender-specific ingredients, and marketing that occasionally forgets that. Our score: 3.4 / 5.

The Gelagen panel prints biotin at 5,000 mcg — 16,667% of the Daily Value — alongside twelve other nutrients, each with an amount you can check.

What Gelagen is

Gelagen is a once-daily dietary supplement sold as a "Cardiovascular Support Formula" — 30 gummies a bottle taken two at a time, about 30 minutes before a meal. The panel prints thirteen nutrient amounts with their percentages of Daily Value, led by biotin at 5,000 mcg. It is sold on the Gelagen discount from $49 to $79 a bottle. It contains no collagen and no hyaluronic acid, whatever the supplied artwork states.

The panel says nothing about gender

Some marketing for this product describes it as men's skin or men's wellness support. The label does not. The Supplement Facts panel is identical whoever buys it, there is no gender-specific ingredient anywhere on it, and the only sex-related content in the entire document is the standard caution for pregnancy and nursing.

If anything the label points the other way. Folate at 111% of the Daily Value is the nutrient with the clearest female-specific public health relevance, and the vitamin A and iodine cautions both matter most in pregnancy. Reference intakes differ slightly by sex for zinc and a few others, which shifts the percentages a little, but nothing about the formula is designed for one group. Judge it on the doses, which apply to everyone.

Plus vitamins A, C, D and E, zinc, iodine, choline and inositol — thirteen nutrients in total, every amount printed.

The pattern is consistent. Every amount is printed, four nutrient forms were chosen the better way, and two lines — choline at 0.04 mg and inositol at 40 mcg — are present in amounts that round to nothing. Full breakdown: how Gelagen works.

Pros and cons

What works

  • All thirteen amounts printed with %DV — no proprietary blend
  • B12 as methylcobalamin, zinc as citrate, vitamin E as natural d-alpha
  • Folate printed with its correct DFE conversion
  • Vitamin A included — the most skin-relevant nutrient on the panel
  • Pectin base rather than gelatin, and a taste people actually keep up with

What does not

  • Supplied artwork claims collagen and hyaluronic acid — neither on the panel
  • Choline 0.04 mg, printed by the label itself as 0% DV
  • Inositol 40 mcg against 2–4 g in human studies
  • Vitamin C only 22% DV in a product sold on skin
  • 3 g added sugar, and no biotin lab-test warning on the packaging

Who it suits — and who should skip it

Worth considering for anyone whose diet may be short on B vitamins, zinc or vitamin D. Not worth it for people already taking a multivitamin or cod liver oil, because preformed vitamin A stacks, or anyone with a thyroid condition who has not asked a doctor about the iodine.

Biotin at 5,000 mcg is 16,667% of the Daily Value and 67 times the next largest line on the panel. The FDA has warned that high-dose biotin interferes with laboratory blood tests, including troponin assays used to diagnose heart attacks.

Verdict

One formula, no gender-specific ingredients, and marketing that occasionally forgets that. Practically: start with three bottles rather than six, photograph your skin in consistent lighting and mark a nail before the first serving, keep wearing sunscreen, tell your doctor about the high-dose biotin before any blood test, and diarise your refund decision for day 50. Questions readers ask

Is Gelagen worth buying in 2026?

It is worth considering if you want a transparent skin, hair and nail multivitamin in a gummy you will actually take daily. It is hard to recommend to anyone buying it for collagen or hyaluronic acid, because the panel contains neither.

How long should I take Gelagen before judging it?

Eight to twelve weeks minimum, because the tissue sets the pace. Skin turns over roughly every 28 days, fingernails grow about 3 mm a month and scalp hair about 1 cm a month.

How long is the Gelagen guarantee?

The offer pages state 60 days from the date of purchase. A badge supplied with the product artwork says 180 days, which does not match. Screenshot the written terms on the order form before you pay and diarise day 50.
